Cinder Maid's Dad is a Pushover

Final blog of our 10 posts in one day extravaganza! And it was exactly as stressful as I thought it would be! But a bunch of stress now means slightly less stress later, like balancing a check book of bad decisions and stupidity mixed with a healthy dose of mental illness.

This time I read through a bunch of short stories all revolving around magic and girls of obscene beauty but very questionable family relationships. I feel like there was supposed to be a moral there but I didn't really get it, it just seemed like if you're gorgeous, kindly old magic creatures will make you look even better but usually with a stipulation cause that kind of magic can only last so long.

Going into it, I had some idea of what to expect but I did not realize magical forces were so generous with their time and effort, they help these girls out a minimum of three separate times so they can marry rich because that's what attractive people do apparently. Though if I was attractive, I'd do the same so you know, but are these girls deserving of magical help because they're treated badly? What about all the other overworked and stressed girls in those universes that don't have some divine help?

Oh oh, and Cinder Maid's dad! At least in the Disney Version he died and couldn't help, but this man is alive and watching his biological daughter being forced into the role of an unwanted child. Like he made one attempt to plea for her before being shot back down, and moreover, did he not recognize his own daughter at the ball because he couldn't see her face well enough? And if she put out the fire before leaving and then started it back just before her family returned, wouldn't they notice the fire hasn't been running? And aren't they nobility? Why don't they have any actual servants or maids? I have so many questions and none of them are vaguely important, but my girls get to be happy with the one they love and enjoy a better a life than the hand they were originally given.
